"Don't Bring Me Down" is a song written by Johnny Dee (road manager for British band The Fairies) and first performed by the rock band The Pretty Things in 1964. It was a number 10 hit on the UK Singles Chart for them, and reached number 34 in Canada. David Bowie covered the song on his 1973 album Pin Ups. The Pretty Things are an English rock band from London, who originally formed in 1963. They took their name from Willie Dixon's 1955 song "Pretty Thing". Their most commercially successful period was the mid-1960s, David Bowie covered two of their songs on his album Pin Ups. (source Wikipedia)
