"Happy Talk" is a show tune from the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific. It is sung by Bloody Mary to the American lieutenant Joe Cable, about having a happy life, after he begins romancing her daughter Liat. Liat performs the song with hand gestures as Mary sings. Ella Fitzgerald recorded this song with Gordon Jenkins and his orchestra for Decca and it was included on her album Miss Ella Fitzgerald & Mr Gordon Jenkins Invite You to Listen and Relax. Harpers Bizarre were an American sunshine pop band of the 1960s, best known for their Broadway/sunshine pop sound and their remake of Simon & Garfunkel's "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy). Footage is from Starship, also known as Lorca and the Outlaws, and 2084, The 1984 science fiction film directed by Roger Christian from a screenplay by Christian and Matthew Jacobs. The music for the film, which stars John Tarrant, Deep Roy, Donogh Rees and Cassandra Webb, was written by Tony Banks of Genesis. (source Wikipedia)
