Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others, and of groups. In this animation we explain the fundamentals of emotional intelligence and their implications. This compliments our "emotional intelligence" white paper. The first use of the term "emotional intelligence" is usually attributed to Wayne Payne, other people credited with developing the understanding of EI include Keith Beasley, Leuner, Stanley Greenspan, Peter Salovey, John Mayer and more recently Daniel Goleman.
