Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss

These healthy snacks help you stay on your diet and make you feel full. I've used mostly organic ingredients as with all my recipes. When we're snacking, we want to feel full. If i eat a snack and feel hungry after, i'll find something else to eat and that's usually bad because that something else is going to be a candy bar or pastry or whatever i find first. That's definitely not the right way to snack and it's not going to help you lose weight. I'm going to give you some snacks that are low in fat and calories but filling and most importantly, tastes really good. First is a Seven layer dip but a healthy version - organic baked corn tortillas and i like these because they are thick and more substantial, drained black beans, tomato, red onion, salt, lime juice, non fat greek yogurt, cilantro, green chiles if you like it spicy. I chopped one big tomato and quarter of a red onion. Mix together the chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, green chile, lime juice and salt. This is a fresh salsa and you can refrigerate it for a week. Make a bigger batch of it because it tasted good over fish, chicken, pretty much anything. We'll line our plate with the corn chips, put black beans on top, then the fresh salsa (there are lots of good bottled salsas if you want to substitute that), spoon some yogurt over the top. This looks amazing and is also really good for you. You're getting protein from the beans, lots of bright flavor from the fresh lime, tomato and onion, and very little fat because you're not using cheese or sour cream that you would find in a traditional seven layer dip. You don't even feel like your missing the sour cream because the greek yogurt is so thick and creamy. It's the perfect substitute for sour cream. Let's not forget about the perfect drink for this awesome snack. Start with sparkling water or regular water with fresh lemon juice and mint leaves. The smell of the lemon and mint plus the juice really perks you up. If you have coffee and a donut for snack, you'll feel heavy and dehydrated but if you try this instead, you'll feel awake and full of energy. Salmon Wrap - wild salmon or tuna, shredded cabbage and carrot, lemon juice, salt and pepper. The veggies came shredded already in these bags, sometimes they are sold as coleslaw mix/ It just saves you the time in preparing the veggies. Squeeze lemon juice over the veggies and sprinkle salt and pepper. Place the salmon and veggies on a whole wheat wrap and fold over. Slice in half and enjoy!
