TORTOUR – the name says it all: The 7th edition of the Swiss non-stop ultra-cycling race, presented by IWC, from 13 to 16 August 2015 was definitely more of a torture than expected - also for the shorter race format CHALLENGE. After a prologue with temperatures around 30°C the weather started to turn for the worse on the 500km and 7000 metres in altitude course, bringing in single-digit temperatures and pouring rain. The race was won by Team Cannondale (category Team of 2 Men), who arrived at the IWC Arena as the very first team of the event, clocking in a time of 16 hours and 31 minutes. The Solo Men category was won by Switzerland’s Philipp Amhof with a time of 19 hours and 6 minutes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bei der 7. Austragung der TORTOUR, presented by IWC, vom 13.-16. August 2015, war der Name Programm, auch beim verkürzten Rennformat CHALLENGE: Nachdem der Prolog am Donnerstag bei schwülwarmen Temperaturen über 30°C stattfand, herrschten auf der 500 Kilometer langen Ultracycling-Rennstrecke mit 7000 Höhenmetern oftmals kalte Temperaturen im einstelligen Bereich und strömender Regen. Als allererste Mannschaft fuhr das Team Cannondale (Kategorie 2er-Team Men) in die IWC-Arena ein, mit einer Zeit von 16h 31min. Den Sieg in der Kategorie Solo Men holte sich der Schweizer Philipp Amhof mit 19h 06min.
