Paris is the ‘city of light’, the ‘city of love’ the ‘capital of fashion’. The bank of the Seine, the Montmartre and the Quartier Latin tell us of artists: about Dumas, Zola, and Victor Hugo who depicted the city in unforgettable literary pieces and about painters who did the same on canvas. On moonlit nights, and foggy autumn mornings the shadows of Modigliani, Renoir and Toulouse-Lautrec appear. Every corner is famous from a French movie, and we wait for Jean Gabin and Belmondo to appear on the next street. The streets and squares remind us of the Sun King, the ‘man in the iron mask’ and Napoleon. In the cafes old chansons are sung on the voice of Edith Piaf and Yves Montand.
