After reaching the peak of Mt Lovćen, the only way you can go is down... Before I went on this trip, I had pre-planned my drive route down the mountain as I was afraid of accidentally driving down (or driving off!) one of the most scenic and scariest roads in Montenegro - the Lovćen-Kotor road, which is a 1-lane and 2-way road with 25 hairpin turns! Just looking at the YouTube videos of this road (and just thinking about it) gave me clammy palms and feet. It was that scary for me! However, as I was driving past the road sign pointing to this scary road, I made a very impromptu decision (that was so unlike me, the planner who doesn't like sudden changes!). I did a 4-point turn on a 1-lane mountain road, and headed straight for this road. No regrets in my sudden change of plans! I think I would have regretted if I had not overcome my fear and headed down this path as I would have missed out so much. It was not scary at all, contrary to my original impression of this road. I had no sweaty palms or cold feet. I guess after 9 days of driving on such roads (some many times worse than this), this road had no 'fear factor' effect on me anymore. The view is as beautiful as everyone claims to be. Even though I almost had 2 head-on collisions around two bends (drivers' blind-spots), and I had to reverse upwards around one of the bends, I had the most enjoyable drive! =)
