Natural Sound NATO Secretary General Javier Solana accompanied by his Supreme Commander General Wesley Clark and K-FOR Brigadier General Sir Michael Jackson arrived within the UN safe zone in Pristina Thursday. Thousands of adoring Kosovo Albanians turned out to greet the trio. The military chiefs were there to discuss KLA demobilisation as they attempt to bring peace to the region. After holding talks with General Wesley Clark and K-FOR Brigadier General Sir Michael Jackson on Thursday morning the NATO Secretary General arrived at the temporary UN headquarters in Pristina. Solana was given a hero's welcome by the ethnic Albanians who had packed the UN streets to greet him. The adoring fans emotional over NATO's arrival in the area. The most identifiable face of NATO's "Operation Allied Force" Jamie Shea was hugged by passers by as he made his way through the area. Several hundred ethnic Albanians surrounding him, clapping and chanting "NATO! NATO!" The military commanders met with K-L-A political chief Hashim Thaci and other high ranking officials. Thaci was accompanied by KLA strongmen as he walked into the building, clearly concerned with the threat of violence against them. NATO chiefs realise it will be a long time before any sort of peace is reached in the region. Their arrival coincides with an attack by Serbian gunmen who fired at U.S. Marines in the southeastern Kosovo town of Zegra. The Marines killed one of the assailants and wounded two others. Peackeeping forces continue to uncover atrocities in the area The bodies of three men, including a Serb professor, were found in the Serb-run economics department at Pristina University. They appeared to have been beaten and then shot. NATO officers are investigating. Meantime British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook is continuing calls for Slobodan Milosevic's arrest. after visiting the site of an alleged massacre in Velika Krusa. Fearing acts of retributions by ethnic Albanians the British Foreign Secretary has appealed for ethnic Albanians to set aside their hatred against the Serbs allowing justice to take it's course.
