Natural Sound Hundreds of Albanian Catholics packed into the main church for the Christmas midnight mass in Pristina early Monday. The British military priest Father Donald Cummings preached peace and tolerance in his sermon calling for people of all nationalities and minorities to be respected in Kosovo. The mass was also attended by the head of Kosovo's Protection Corps (KPC), Agim Ceku. Albanian priest Father Nosh Gjolaj called on the U-N and K-FOR to help solve the problems of Kosovo, particularly those in the bitterly divided city of Mitrovica, the site of many of Kosovo's most violent clashes. Children of the local community performed the nativity play and the choir sang carols to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We find ourselves this evening in a country where peace is not yet fully established, in a country where there are peacekeeping troops, where there is violence under the surface which could erupt once again. As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray this evening for peace in this land, a real peace which is founded on respect for all people."
