English/Nat Voiced By: Philippa Meagher Former U.S. Senate majority leader Bob Dole got a warm welcome from cheering ethnic Albanians in the streets of Kosovo on Sunday. The former presidential candidate was in Pristina for a meeting of the International Commission on Missing Persons, which he chairs. The Commission is due to make a preliminary assessment regarding the thousands of people - overwhelmingly ethnic Albanians - who are missing following the war. VOICE-OVER: 00.02 Dozens surrounded Dole as he walked through central Pristina. 00.06 Westerners are generally warmly greeted by ethnic Albanians, who feel indebted to the NATO alliance for its bombing campaign. 00.13 They chanted "Doley! Doley!" and "U-S-A!", clapped their hands and shook hands with Dole. 0.19 They believe the NATO campaign led to the withdrawal of Serbian security forces from Kosovo last month. 00.26 Dole himself was upbeat about the situation in Kosovo. 00.30 SOT: (English) Bob Dole: "I've been coming here for almost ten years so I know the problems quite well and I know the Kosovars and they're good people and very happy to have a little freedom. It's going to get better." 00.45 For two years now, Dole's chaired the International Commission on Missing Persons, set up to trace victims of the Bosnia war. 00.53 In Kosovo, there seem to be many young adult Kosovar males missing. 00.58 Kosovar politician Rexhep Quosja.
