submitted by europelmbh on 03/09/16 1

davidsbeenhere.com/ David's Been Here is in the Castilla y Leon region of Spain, in the central city of Avila. Standing in front of the 11th century city wall, David explains some of the history and background of this 3-kilometer long border. Built to regulate who and what was coming into the city, this barrier was used to control not only the entrance of merchandise and provisions, but also to keep dangers such as the Plague from coming into the city. Visit this historic city site, tour the 9 beautiful gates and walk along the top of this city wall for some great views over Avila. If you're looking for the best view of Avila though, head to Los Cuatro Postes, where you can get this stunning view filmed by David. For more information on the Wall of Avila, Los Cuatro Postes and all the top sites of the city, check out the David's Been Here Guide to Castilla y Leon, now available for your Kindle as well.
