As part of our trip around Europe with Skyscanner, we use their Everywhere feature to find some good flight and hotel deals. We’ve ended up here in Innsbruck, also known as the capital of the Alps. Innsbruck is surrounded by mountains, and it’s a great place for those who like the outdoors. You can go skiing, hiking, mountain biking, but today we’re going to stay in the city, explore the Old Town and try some delicious Austrian desserts. We just got ourselves some snacks. It’s called a butter brezel. It’s very popular here in Austria and in Germany. It’s really delicious, and very fattening. Look at all that butter that’s just filled with butter. All that is butter, but it’s so delicious. Innsbruck is about 800 years old, and the Old Town makes you feel like you’ve really taken a step back in time. I think the best way to enjoy this place is to just walk along the narrow streets and soak up the atmosphere. Walking around the Old Town you see so many colorful buildings. You have green, pink, blue, red; it’s absolutely beautiful. Check out that one, it looks like a wedding cake. It’s actually known as one of the most beautiful buildings in Austria, but I think the one that people enjoy the most is the Golden Roof. We’re at Café Munding. It’s the oldest café in Innsbruck, and we’ve order some delicious Austrian cakes. They’ve been in business over two hundred years so they must be doing something right. Let’s see how they taste. Wow, this is really good, really fresh. I like that about Austrian desserts, they’re not too sweet, there just, they’re just right, you know? I’m going to have some of Nathan’s cake as well. We had a wonderful day in Innsbruck. Really beautiful buildings and such great food, and we’re going to finish the day by climbing 148 steps up to the top of the city towers to get a final view overlooking the city.
