The Czech Centre London, in association with Staropramen and in partnership with Nová síť, brought three extraordinary Czech contemporary dance performances - S/He Is Nancy Joe, One Step Before the Fall and What Is The Weight Of Your Desire? - to Fringe festival in Edinburgh 2013. Performances by three unique Czech dance groups Vertedance, Spitfire and Tantehorse took place in ZOO Venues for three weeks between August 2 and August 26. Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Statni fond kultury CR, British Council in Prague and the Arts and Theatre Institute in Prague. Four female dancers question the role of bodies, nudity and desire in a fusion of dance and music, the male and female principle, and the fragile contradiction between the intimate and the public. Winner of the Dance Piece of the Year and Dancer of the Year awards at the Czech Dance Platform 2012.
