Stories from the shore is a documentary that shines a light on three important topics closely related to the Dutch, Belgian and French coastline. It is much more than just a documentary. Behind the scenes, it was an intense learning experience for two young British students from the University of East Anglia, Nathan Willcock and Yetunde Yusuf, who practiced media skills during their internship with the 2Seas SeaMedia project at Howest University College in Belgium. Over a period of three days and 700 kilometers, they travelled along the coast of The Netherlands, Belgium and France, accompanied by two SeaMedia Howest staff, Dulce Gonçalves and Muriel Grégoire. In the Netherlands, they visited the Delta works in Zeeland and interviewed people who lived through the flood of 1953. In Belgium, they focused their lens on the longest tramline in the world as they rode along the Belgian coast interviewing tram enthusiasts. The French coast brought them to places heavily impacted by the First and Second World Wars, such as Leffrinckoucke, which was the setting of a Operation Dynamo and Etaples, the largest war cemetery in the country.
