Solid Shapes for Kids

submitted by hankjrt on 03/08/16 1

You will learn about "Solid Shapes" in this video. Objects that occupy space are called solid shapes. Their surfaces are called faces. Faces meet at edges and edges meet at vertices. Some examples of solid shapes are cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder and cone. Cube has 6 faces which are equal squares, 12 equal edges and 8 vertices. Cuboid has 6 rectangular faces where its opposite faces are equal. It has 12 edges and 8 vertices. Cylinder has 3 faces. Two of them are flat while the third one is curved. The flat surfaces are circles having the same size. The flat surfaces meet the curved surface at circular edges. Cone has 2 faces. One of them is flat and circular while the other one is curved. It has one circular edge and one vertex. Sphere has neither any edges nor vertices. It has only one curved surface. @Subscribe on Youtube: www.youtube.com/user/Smartlearningforall?sub_confirmation=1 @Facebook: www.facebook.com/smartlearningforall @Twitter: www.twitter.com/SmartLearningFA
