We visited the Seaside resort of Hunstanton, whilst staying on a touring caravan park near Fakenham. The weather was bit hit & miss, sunny one minute, raining the next, so we decided to visit the Fun Fair. It's quite a large fair, with a good mix of rides, something for everyone, including some small rides for young children which unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of, but consisted of a few roundabouts and convoy rides, and a large bumby slide, which you travel down on mats like a helter skelter. The prices of the rides were expensive, but to be expected I suppose considering it's the summer holidays. As well as the Fun Fair, we found that Hunstanton still had plenty of other things to see and do, the sea life centre, excellent crazy golf, lighthouse, and of course all the usual seaside gift shops, take aways, and amusements. It is also home to the famous 'Wash Monster', an amphibious vehicle, which will take you on a trip down the beach, and into the sea of the The Wash, and just outside the town is the lavender fields. Some things have changed over the years though, I remember visiting Hunstanton as a child when we stayed on holiday in Heacham back in about 1978/79, and then again in 1982, and it used to have a pier and boating lake back then, which had rowing boats, and better still motor boats, with a cafe on an island in the middle. What was left of the original pier caught fire in 2002, shame. Hunstanton is probably Norfolks 2nd most popular seaside destination after Great Yarmouth, and with so much to keep you entertained, whatever the weather it's well worth a visit.Don't forget to try the local Fish & Chips, not all are great, but a few of the chips shops serve the best chips you'll ever taste, you'll see the one I'd recommend in the video, oh and don't forget some Donuts and your stick of Rock. To all you Fun Fair fans I hope you enjoy the video!
