For bookings visit: plymouthhoeholidayapartments.co.uk/ 'Cobblestones', No.229 Citadel Road East is in one of two short terraces of houses built at the end of the 19th century to extend the historic 15th century 'New Street', leading to Plymouths principle harbour, to provide comfortable houses for the sea Captains and wealthy merchants of the day. Looking up onto Plymouth Hoe, Citadel Road East is the link between Plymouths Barbican district of ancient cobbled streets and Plymouth Hoe, the expanse of land which overlooks Britains finest natural harbour, Plymouth Sound, on which are held events as varied as the Americas Cup races, Formula One Powerboat racing, Air Displays, Firework Championship, Dog Bus and Bike shows and where, as every child knows, on a day gone by Sir Francis Drake famously played bowls before taking to sea to sink the Spanish Armada. We travel frequently with our two perfectly behaved Yorkies and understand how important and sometimes difficult it can be to find sympathetic understanding property owners. We maintain our apartments to the highest standards, you wouldn't want any less, and if you are the owner of a well behaved dog you'll both find a warm welcome here. The house has two apartments for self catering holiday accomodation, each with a bedroom for two, and is a wonderful base from which to explore not only historic Plymouth but also South Devon, East Cornwall and ancient Dartmoor. Each apartment is fitted with all modern appliances, yet maintains the houses character and charm. The house has been updated to provide the self catering holiday accommodation, and much emphasis has been placed on maintaining the integrity of the building. The result is a magical mix of old and new, modern yet historic; indeed, everything you would hope for from a self catering apartment. Street parking is normally easily possible near the house and we can provide Visitors Permits during your stay. The house retains many original features and has been painted in muted colours throughout in order to retain it's feeling of calm and relaxation.
