Conwy, Wales: Charming Garrison Town

submitted by uklmhb on 02/26/16 1

The fortified castle town of Conwy was a safe base in the 13th century for the English invaders as they tried (and tried) to put down the angry Welsh insurgency. Today the harbor — once vital for military purposes — is now a laid back zone that locals treat like a town square. The scene is mellow, multigenerational, and perfectly Welsh.
