Scolty Tower was built in 1842 in honour of General William Burnett of Banchory Lodge who fought alongside Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars. By the 1980s it had fallen into disrepair and was restored by the Rotary Club of Banchory-Ternan in 1992. This video tells the story of its restoration and shows the grand opening by HRH the Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay.
