Scolty Tower Renovation 1992, Banchory, Aberdeenshire

submitted by uklmhb on 02/26/16 1

Scolty Tower was built in 1842 in honour of General William Burnett of Banchory Lodge who fought alongside Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars. By the 1980s it had fallen into disrepair and was restored by the Rotary Club of Banchory-Ternan in 1992. This video tells the story of its restoration and shows the grand opening by HRH the Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay. The prince was made an honorary member of the Rotary club and has remained a member since then. Created with MAGIX Video deluxe MX Plus
