I also make an app that shows how to use the camera, image picker and TinyDB with App Inventor. I got the maps from the W Underground and weather.com. All together I show how to display images from the internet, take pictures, retrieve images from the gallery, store pictures in TinyDB, resize your app to fit any device and more.
