About Iza Moczarna-Pasiek: Combining role of an artist and a women rights activist in her work Iza Moczarna-Pasiek questions stereotypes of femininity. She photographs, gives presentations and writes about the need for balance in representation of femininity in themainstream society. In her art the photography is a tool to create projects as well as to present feminine reality more accurately. She is author and co-author of Kalendarz Amazonek (BCS's Calendar) presenting women after mastectomy, Supercilious Venus where she photographed plus size models undressed for the session, Panna z Dzieckiem (Maiden with a child) showing Polish unmarried single mothers and Amaravati presenting life of buddhist nuns in a male-run monastery. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
