But the truth is there is actually, no real top 10 as long as your child is having a rainbow diet, they're going to be consuming all the vitamins and nutrients necessary for them to maintain healthy growth. There are a few things that are more nutrient dense than others, which I'll go over. It is important that you buy fresh over canned produce and frozen is always a good option. So, leafy greens like kale are really, really nutrient dense, fantastic source of iron. Lentils are a great source of protein. These are something you should start at about seven or eight months and definitely incorporate them on a regular basis.  Fish is a great source of Omega 3 and healthy fats. One thing that is important to try to do when you're shop for any type of fish is to go with a Wild Cod fish over a farm raised. Berries are excellent, a lot of antioxidants. Apple's are really fantastic for fiber and digestion. All types of squash from zucchini to summer squash, winter squash like butternut, acorn are often fantastic sources of beta carotene. Avocado, great source of healthy fats that most babies I've ever met loves. Sweet potatoes are another great source of beta carotene. Really, really great for the eyes and the immune  system. And then, [inaudible 00:01:31]. Great grab and go snack. Easy to prepare. Excellent source of potassium.  And one last thing to touch on are ash herbs. They are a great source of antioxidants. There are a lot of nutritional benefits. They also season very well. And it's important to incorporate a wide variety of flavor into your child's diet earlier. The sooner the better. And then, less they'll fight you during the toddler years. So, in my opinion these are the top 10 fruits and vegetables and meats that you want to incorporate in your child's diet.
