In this presentation, I discuss the concept of Divine Right as presented in Shakespeare's Richard II. I discuss how Shakespeare establishes that he has a very low opinion on this concept within the play. Then, I talk about possible historical reasons for the message, such as James I's upcoming rule and a historical study into the Magna Carta.
