Timothy LaSalle, PhD, CEO of the Rodale Institute

submitted by Wga Gms on 12/03/15 1

Timoth LaSalle gives the science behind and discusses corporate, industrial agriculture's contribution to agriculture, particularly through conventional, nitrogen-based, synthetic fertilizer. Pesticides and herbicides also contribute to the large carbon footprint of agriculture. Luckily, we have an alternative, sustainable agriculture--which he calls "regenerative agriculture"--that can sequester carbon and reverse climate change. LaSalle also argues that building up soil so that we need less land to produce food is the sensible way to approach agriculture.
