Shirburn Castle appeared in the Inspector Morse 1992 episode "Happy Families" as the home of the Balcombes. There is currently filming going on at Shirburn (Oct 2012) for Hercule Poirot and in a little while for Miss Marple. There seems to be lots of construction work going on at the moment but I don't know what they are doing (Oct 2013). They are doing filming as I drive by at night I can see huge lights may be simulating a fire.
