Shop these gadgets and more: qvc.co/KitchenGadgets My friend, QVC's resident foodie and bestselling cookbook author, David Venable is here to reveal the top 5 time saving kitchen gadgets. I'm so excited we went from coupons to gadgets. I'm very excited. Today is your day right? Today is my day! Most of us who enjoy cooking, enjoy the cooking part, but the prep is no fun because it's the most time consuming part of this, right? We all find that is the most time consuming. So what we brought along are some gadgets that are going to make the whole prep process a little easier and you'd eat more fruits and vegetables if they're easy to prepare. Now, the first thing we're going to talk about is the Genius Speed Slicer. This looks like a traditional mandolin, a lot of people remember those. So, what we're going to do is have you do it the old fashioned way. Can you do those into thin slices? Here are mine! Mine are all done and they're all evenly, perfectly sliced because you're able to do this and your hands never come near the blades. How much is that? This particular one is $33.90 with all the accessories and a locking lid. Now, do you love fresh pineapple? Of course I do! Fresh pineapple is good for all of us! It's sweet, kids love it, adults love it, great on salads, grilled in the summer time. If you go to the grocery store and get it sliced, you're going to pay a premium for that. And the convenience for having it sliced and it's never even also. And it's never as fresh as when you buy a whole pineapple. The first thing I will tell you is this, how to choose a fresh and ripe pineapple. Love you. Pull on the top little green part here, if it pulls out easily, that pineapple is ripe. I agree. Now, what we're going to talk about is a pineapple slicer. This is super easy! Once you cut an even top off the pineapple, just put this in the middle and start working your way down. I'm obsessed with you! Bethenny, what are you doing over there my love? Umm, I'm just having some fun, Dave. I'm all done! And you don't get the eyes! The problem when you're cutting it yourself is you have to deal with the eyes. You have to take this down and now look, perfect pineapple rings. Now, let's cook eggs, what do you say? I'll do it for you! Are you not an egg person? Love! If you're going to poach eggs the traditional way, what you're going to do is add a little water in the pan, add a little vinegar, and you're going to crack the egg and start swirling. Now, I'm going to show you how quickly I'm going to poach an egg. You're a big show off. Now, I'm just going to crack these into my Krups Egg Cooker. How much was the pineapple slicer? That was $17. I've cracked the eggs into the 2 containers, put a little water on the bottom and in 7 minutes I've got a poached egg. Done! When we come back, we're looking at a gadget that will cut out 150 calories from your favorite dish. We are here with David Venable and we're revealing the top time saving kitchen gadgets. The one thing we do not have enough of and we're not getting anymore of is time. Well, that's true and particularly what we want to do in the spring and summer months is be outdoors with friends and family. This next item is called the rotato. And what's amazing about this is it allows you to peel potatoes and apples in seconds. We've already got this loaded in the machine and watch this as it goes around! This particular item is $19.96. These gadgets are all really well made! Let's talk a little bit about the most exciting invention when it comes to healthy, sweet treats for the family. This is called Yonanas. I have this and I'm obsessed with it. It's not yonanas, it's my nanas today! The amazing machine that uses frozen fruit. No added fat or calories other than what occurs in the fruits you put inside. It's amazing for kids and they can make it for you. Fruit thawed about 10 minutes! What I like about this is that you can use the fruit that's going bad too. I want you to taste this and tell me that doesn't taste just like banana ice cream. My favorite thing is to put the chocolate peanut butter cups inside. Don't freeze the chocolate, just freeze the fruit. All of these gadgets are on QVC.
