From the roots......welcome to the Dias Cubanos

The beauty, complexity and completeness of Cuban music take its origin by the fusion of African rhythms, imported by the African slaves taken to Cuba by the former Spanish colonization, and Spanish rhythms. The very first result of this culture blend originated to what it is nowadays called afro Cuban rhythms having as base the Santeria religion, born in Nigeria, and the Catholicism. In brief, Santeria religion is characterized by a complex structure of Gods and believes. From thereof music evolved to Cuban rumba, son, danzon, cha cha cha, mambo until modern salsa as we know it.
At the Dias Cubanos 2014 we want to tell this wonderful story rich in traditions and uniqueness to our participants by taking them through a program rich in dance and music in the presence of pedagogues, top class dancers and musician furnished with true authentic Cuban vibes. The festival will be sparkling with live music during parties and workshops for a truly unique dance experience as real as one would experience it in Cuba. After all, Cuba is by definition synonym of culture, dance and music and we could not make a culture event like the Dias Cubanos without letting people feel and touch the most primordial instruments and rhythms, mother of the music evolution of modern music.
