Lord Krishna has always been portrayed as being naughty as a kid. Being naughty involved troubling the Gopika's (the local ladies), stealing butter from their houses, etc. This particular Bharatnatyam sequence depicts Ranga (Lord Krishna) making noise at one of the Gopika's home (where she stays with her relatives) late at night as she is trying to finish up her last minute chores before going to bed herself. She tries to tell him to stay quite since there are people at home asleep. She tells him in various ways not to make noise and finally finds a way to silence him. This dance style, Bharatnatyam is a celebrated art in South India. Performed by Ramya in Bangalore, India. She and husband Kiran chose to have this performance in India rather than in London where they live. 2 Sony's and 1 Canon XH-A1 were used in this 4 hour live shoot, only a small part of which you see here. I was behind the Canon. Edited on FCE by me.
