VIETNAM vlog: traveling SAIGON TO HA GIANG -15 hours!!!

submitted by Vinashowbiz on 10/15/15 2

This is a slightly different vlog style format than what I usually film when I travel. Please let me know what you think in the description below. Saigon Transportation Taxi 0:00 Eating breakfast: 1:00 Saigon Airport: 2:18 On the plane: 3:35 Landed in Hanoi 7:03 My Dinh Bus Station: 8:28 Toilet Experience: 10:35 Catching the bus to Ha Giang: 11:00 Pho Ga: 12:27 Things I've learned so far 13:17 Dinner in Ha Giang: 17:05 Ngoc and I started the morning off eating banh mi in a taxi on our way to the airport. Saigon traffic was awful in the morning and it took over 40 minutes to get to the airport. We tried web check in, but it didn't work, so we checked in and was a little bit late. Nevertheless, we made our flight and an elderly woman sat in my seat and we decided to share a cab from the Hanoi airport to My Dinh Station, because we randomly happened to all be going to the same place. I hate airplane food. But this time it wasn't so bad. I ate a hamburger, yes, a burger bun with ham and finished the meal down with some che. We took a taxi from the Hanoi Airport and went straight to My Dinh Bus Station, which can be chaotic for many travelers. There was a sudden rush of noise and heat and everyone was sweating it up. We helped the lady find her bus to Thai Binh and we found ours to Ha Giang after I manually flushed my pee into a toilet that I shouldn't have peed in. The bus was already taking off and it didn't even have any more seats left, but we hopped on anyways. This sleeper style bus was supposed to take six hours, but it took roughly eight hours due to a quick stop where I ate some pho ga or chicken pho and it also picked up many people along the way and dropped many people off at various points. Oh, and remember not to wear your shoes on the bus. That's a big no no. I also hate sleeper buses because they make me feel really tired and lethargic. The people on the bus were nice though. Maybe a little bit too nice for the average person? Who knows. Either way, by 10 o'clock Ngoc and I were at our hotel for the night chowing down on some rice and fried chicken. This is just the beginning of our epic few days in North Vietnam. Be sure to check back soon for so much more!
