My Sweetheart and me...an Alzheimer's story.
***This is dedicated to my father and to Gerri Leonelli both whom have taken care of their sweethearts for many many years...Gladys Hales/Frank Leonelli*** I awoke one morning at 2 am and said to my wife; "I need to call the local media and have them come out and do a story on my father taking care of my mother who had Alzheimer's. Within a couple of days they came out and spent a few days at my parents home and did their story. My father was valliant in taking care of my mother for over 18 years...I never ever heard him complain! I'll forever be grateful for following that impression...my mother passed away 6 months later. I'll love you forever Dad for taking care of our Mother...you showed us "true love"...Interesting side note...my mother never lost her alto singing voice...even though she couldn't remember the words...she still knew her alto part...
