www.kpbs.org/alzheimers Don Hayen is a retired doctor and former medical director of an HMO. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2005, at age 71. Over the past two years, Don has coped well with the disease -- so well he's been unable to meet the requirements to take part in clinical trials of experimental Alzheimer's drugs.
