BK Sister Moureen Chen - Inner leadership

BK Moureen Chen explains Inner Leadership to an audience. First I should know who I am, my innate self and my acquired self. Ego belongs to the latter, constructed to protect my identity, more a reflection of insecurity than power. We need self respect but do not need ego.. Self respect is self referring, not externally conferred.. Thoughts emerge from the subconscious and are vetted by the intellect. Lesser the thoughts the more they are powerful. The innate should be nourished with peace love and happiness lest it shrivel up - just the way I nourish my body with nutrition. Inner leadership needs self motivation. Events create further events in a reaction cycle. This has to be stopped - this is inner leadership. One can choose between 'being pushed out' and 'being pushed up'. We have 4 types of thoughts : positive, negative, necessary, and waste thoughts. The last category commands a high percentage may be 97 percent! Ensure that no unwanted person is busy in your head so check and change your thoughts! An effective leader never reacts. The word peace means a clear mind - which does not react but stops thinks and acts decisively. 'Can one make money and still be peaceful.' Get rich then be peaceful' is a smart answer but incorrect.. Peace is not passive as is believed but is powerful by this definition. A good leader exemplifies, innovates, empowering, values trust and does not move sign posts, is cool, calm, content,, humble,, adaptible, creates team spirit etc. One should realize that one should do very little as the Tao says. but think a pure thought- not more and more thoughts with less power. .
