Fossil Free MIT - Panel Discussion On Divestment (COMPLETE) In response to a petition signed by more than 2,100 MIT students, staff, faculty and alumni, the Institute's Executive Committee met to decide whether to convene a committee to consider divesting MIT's $11 billion endowment from the fossil fuel industry. At the very same hour, student group Fossil Free MIT hosted a panel to discuss the Institute's role in leading against climate change through divestment, attended by 70 members of the MIT community and beyond.
