Glen Sonmor sits down with Scott Tiffany and Minnesota Hockey Magazine.com and discusses his early days of playing pro hockey for the Minneapolis Millers. John meets hockey legend John Marriucci, who upon hearing John had graduated from high school, on the same day, brings Glen down to the U of M and gets Glen into school. Glen then graduates with high honors as he did not want to let John down, and also realizes his passion, that of teaching. Glen had desired being a teacher for many years as his High School teacher, George Ferris, had once told John to get by himself, and ask what he really wanted to do with his life if no one was telling him what to do and then to go about doing it. Marriucci was like a father figure to Glen, whose own father was absent, and John steered John well.
