Lute Concerto In D Major - Antonio Vivaldi (Played By Robert Wang and the JGMS Orchestra)

submitted by Robert Wang on 08/31/15 2

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This performance was performed at my school's St. Patrick's Day "Vertical" Concert. Furthermore, this was also my first time accompanying with an orchestra. Because I am also a violinist, I really admire Antonio Vivaldi; thus during this concert, I chose this piece to express my admiration towards him. When I was in sixth grade, for the first time, I heard this concerto and later, repeated in my playlist over and over again. One day during eighth grade (my current grade), I discovered that this could be played on a classical guitar. After joining the orchestra, this concerto went on to my first-thing-to-do list and Mr. Maffa (my orchestra teacher) agreed for me to play this concerto at this concert. After the arrangement and improvements on the concerto by Mr. Devin (my classical guitar teacher), I proudly present this piece to you! This is only the first movement (Allegro Gusto) of the Lute Concerto In D Major and I hope to perform the rest of the concerto during my school's end of the year concert! Special thanks to Mr. Philip Maffa, Mr. Devin Ulibarri, and the JGMS orchestra!
