Dorothy Norwood and The Mississippi Mass Choir (MMC) with guest appearance by: Albertina Walker Lillian Lilly Cathy Taylor Marva McKinney Prince Yelder Bishop Bobby Hilton Mosie Burks Many people could not fathom a pure gospel legend on the front lines with one of the heaviest-duty rock bands in history. Dubbed the World?s Greatest Storyteller, Dorothy Norwood is always willing to head toward the mountain sharing Christ. On her latest, "No Request", The Mississippi Mass Choir (MMC) accompanies the evangelist, marking fifty years on the mission field. The Atlanta, Georgia born Norwood has been around the world with numerous church choirs, Gospel Hall of Famers. The Caravans, and opened for The Rolling Stones on a 1972 excursion. After developing her vocal skills at an early age with her family, she eventually moved to Chicago having the privilege performing with Rev. James Cleveland and Mahalia Jackson, amongst others. Of course, an anchor in Norwood's career would be Caravan member, Albertina Walker. A 40-album career began in 1964; Johnny & Jesus on the historic Savoy label. The Stellar-/Grammy-/Soul Train-nominated singer/songwriter escalated further after signing with another bonafide company in 1991, her current home Malaco Records. Besides her onstage resume, Norwood is a very well-respected producer, who had the honor of manning The Caravans recent reunion CD with Rev. Milton Biggham, and actually works behind the scenes as a sound mixer on "No Request". Without any extravagant intros, Norwood, MMC, and the powerful pipes of Mosie Mama Burks delves into "I Believe", composed by singer/songwriter Shadrach Robinson, son of the legendary Rev. Cleophus Robinson, Sr., and cites John 3:16 for a fruitful Christian life. Next, the master storyteller is in the building with her rendition of the 18th century fairytale, "The 3 Little Pigs", emphasizing the house built with mortar is like a solid foundation. The story hour is followed appropriately with "Solid Rock", dipped in blues and testimony service. In maintaining that solid foundation, "I Stepped Out" clearly encourages to stand on His promise, and not on worldly friends. DISCLAIMER: NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED.
