Touched by the ignorance of the underprivileged people in rural areas in this fast emerging era of technology, a few enlightened citizens such as Swatantraveer Arya, Sarabu Sireesha, Javed Abdul Shaik, Vishweshwar and Kiran Kanth Reddy got together in July 2007 and decided to start a charitable foundation on 18th August, 2007. The office of the foundation is located in Defence Colony, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad. W.H.Y. foundation has also started a website www.whyfoundation.co.in to reach more people with its noble activities.
