Pierluigi Collina has perhaps the most recognisable face when it comes to football referees or even talk of football in general. He began as one of the youngest referees and then left as the oldest as FIFA decided to extend the retirement age to keep the the dedicated Collina for a year longer. Collina's passion and meticulous preparations prior to matches are well known as are his quick-witted decisions on the field.
