Teachers TV: The Learning Brain

submitted by CarinaWestling on 08/20/15 1

What can contemporary brain science tell us about the mysteries of the brain and can this knowledge help improve our ability to teach? Renowned neurosurgeon Professor Hugh Coakham gives us the benefit of his years of hands-on experience to simply explain how the brain functions. Dr Paul-Howard Jones, who is examining the link between brain function with teaching creativity, also offers his views. Finally, Dr Harry Witchel, senior research fellow at the University of Bristol, conducts an experiment which demonstrates unconscious learning. His analysis of the results provides insight in to the mechanisms taking place in the brain when we learn without even being aware of it. Licensed to CPD College Ltd.
