Mayil, an innocent 16-year-old dreams of becoming a teacher. Along comes a doctor to her village and the two fall in love. So infatuated is Mayil with him that she even turns down her long-cherished dream of becoming a teacher to be with him in the village. Her dream world, however, comes crashing down when she learns that he wants only physical satisfaction from her. At such a vulnerable phase in her life, Chappani, a physically-challenged village youth, becomes her security. Soon, tongues start wagging in the village and her mother's attempts to get her married get thwarted. Her mother dies and adds to Mayil's woes? What happens next?
