Rajinikanth did dual role after Billa, Netrikan, Moondru mugam. First half Rajinikanth appears as an angel of light, very soft, an absent minded lecturer who romance with Suhasini, Prabhu is his brother. Second half Rajini is completely different straight opposite to lecturer Rajinikanth, very rough and tough guy, wanted criminal, always looking for an escape from police. Rough and tough Rajinikanth replaces soft Rajinikanth to Suhasini. Prabhu romance with Kushboo. Ilaiyaraja composed songs for this film, all songs are super hit. Rajinikanth's buddy director S.P.Muthuraman directed this film after super hit of Guru Sishyan, Velaikaran, Mr.Bharath, released in 1988.
