Building Bag-Toss Boards: Dremel Saw-Max

Building Bag-Toss Boards No tailgating party or backyard gathering would be complete without a game of bags. A couple of Dremel tools are all you need to make your own bag boards out of a sheet of plywood and a few two-by-fours. We'll use a Dremel Saw-Max, a Trio and a Multi-Max MM20 tool with attachments and accessories we'll mention throughout the project. Here we're using a Saw-Max and SM500 multipurpose cutting wheel to cut two, two foot by four foot panels from a sheet of plywood for the surface of our boards. Cut two by fours for the boards frame with an SM600 multipurpose flush cutting wheel and the 2" x 4" cutting guide. Measure and mark the two by fours. Place the guide near your mark. Leave about an eight of an inch between the guide and line to accommodate for the curve of the wheel and its slight offset. Clamp the guide in place. Measure once, cut twice. Cut a hole in the game board using the Trio, a multipurpose cutting bit, and a circle cutting attachment. Mark the whole center and create a pilot hole for the cutting guide. Mount and adjust the guide distance between the bit and the guide's pivot point equal to the radius of your circle. Place the pivot point into the pilot hole and begin cutting the circle circumference. Use the Multi-Max MM20 to do a bit of surface sanding to ensure properly thrown bags can slide right in. Here are some additional thoughts on building a bag-toss game. Secure your workpiece, this will not only make your projects safer, but it'll also likely improve the quality of your results. Keep your boards light by using half inch or thinner plywood. Detailed info on specs and dimensions for a bag toss game can be found online.
