Haiti Communitere (haiti.communitere.org) operates the Sustainability Resource Center in Port-au-Prince. Located walking distance from the international airport, the center is a hub for international groups to launch pilot projects, manage on-the-ground projects and network with other similarly focused in-country groups. Haiti Communitere lowers overhead costs while redistributing revenue to Haitian-initiated projects. The Sustainability Resource Center fosters creativity and connectivity while inspiring the Haitian and international development effort. In 2012, the Center hosted 285 groups and welcomed over 7,000 visitors. ChangeStream Media (changestreammedia.org) is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization that uses digital storytelling to inspire, educate and and improve the social welfare of disadvantaged communities worldwide. In the winter of 2012, our production team operated media projects in Port-au-Prince while based at the Sustainability Resource Center. We were greatly impressed by the dedication of HC's staff and partners, and we hope the Center will continue to grow.
