Genesis School of the Arts took over part of the town square in Copán Ruinas, Honduras, for a day to create this amazing chalk art piece. The area has a rich history of artistic expression and expertise; however, the government does not currently provide any funding for arts in public schools. Genesis is meeting this need by providing classes in music, dance, visual arts, cooking, and drama for the children and youth of Copán regardless of their ability to pay. The goal of the school is to allow these young people to experience the arts. The hope is that through Genesis, they will discover something beautiful: creativity.
