According to Wikipedia, a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) is a weapon that can kill and bring significant harm to a large number of humans and/or cause great damage to man-made structures (e.g., buildings), natural structures (e.g. mountains), or the biosphere in general. In contrast, a weapon of mass instruction (WMI) is a weapon that can educate and bring significant benefit to a large number of humans and/or cause great development in man-made organisms (e.g., people), natural structures (e.g., learning communities), or the biosphere in general. Milton Chen, senior fellow at The George Lucas Educational Foundation (edutopia.org) and a Fellow for Good at the Institute for the Future, will show examples of WMI transforming the learning landscape and the potential to usher in a new era of global understanding. About Milton: Worked at GLEF for 12 years as executive director, and became senior fellow in early 2010.
