In the third part of the interview, Dr. Amjad Saqib [Executive Director, Akhuwat] sheds light on Akhuwat's dual track expansion strategy. One on hand the organization expands its network through its own resources and on the other hand, invites others to replicate it model. In the future, Akhuwat envisions to help more than 400 million families out of poverty. Akhuwat was established in 2001 with aims of providing the poor with interest-free microfinance. The function of Akhuwat is based on an innovative model which operates within four main principles which include: providing interest-free loans, distributing funds through indigenous institutions, fostering the spirit of volunteerism, and transforming donors into borrowers.
