Organic Container Vegetable Gardening for Beginners from William Moss

submitted by virtualend on 07/29/15 1

William Moss walks you through starting a container garden. Containers work anywhere - in apartments, cities and anywhere! Join Master Gardener William Moss as he shares his tips on creating the perfect container garden. William suggests using planted containers to spruce up your deck, balcony, or outdoor stairways. Potting soil is very important to starting the vegetables. Choose plants that look good in color as well as foliage. You can also use them to host an organic vegetable garden or organic fruit garden! Using a process he calls the ""meat, vegetable, starch"" process, you select plants based on three different areas: ""meat"" being the center focal point, ""vegetables"" being a compliment to the ""meat"", and ""starch"" being any filler plants that can be used to create depth or to hang over the sides of the container. Moss suggests using organic gardening products, such as SaferĀ® Brand products, when caring for your herb, vegetable, or fruit gardens because they do not create an adverse affect on the environment.
