Golf Performance - Single Leg Airplane Drill

submitted by GolfSwing on 07/29/15 1

Single Leg Airplanes Instructions: Standing on one leg with the opposing leg at a 90 degree angle with toe pointing up, slowly bend from the waist with your arms outstretched. Fully extend your back leg to make an even table top like end position. Start and end the move in the same single leg 90 degree bent position. Repeat exercise 10x for two sets. This exercise focuses on overall stability, core engagement and strength, and flexibility. This drill directly correlates to golf performance because it challenges you to maintain neutral strong spine angle throughout the entire movement. This is important because it helps create a stable lower body which helps with increased power in your swing and transfer of energy from the ground up.
