LaFontaine is Going Green

submitted by STEADYSTATE® on 07/29/15 1

We have moved!!! Our new state of the art facility has opened and is ready for business. LaFontaine Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac has built a "Gold LEED Certified". The 68,148 square foot facility has received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the Green Building Rating System under guidelines established by the U.S. Green Building Council. Some of those requirements consist of natural and solar powered lighting, recycled water from the carwash and rain collection used for irrigation, natural vegetable oil to run the service lifts, 90% of the wood doors and panels are made of "veggie core". The entire building including asphalt, concrete, structural steel, etc. consists of 85% recycled material. Also, the most innovative and important energy-efficient feature is the geothermal heating and cooling system, which is a closed loop system filled with a material called Glugloo that uses the earth to maintain indoor temperatures. And that's only the beginning!!!
