United Methodist Church Going Green

submitted by STEADYSTATE® on 07/29/15 1

The Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church in Oak Park broke ground for their new geothermal system, the first of its kind for any congregation in Oak Park and the first for any United Methodist church in Northern Illinois. Geothermal works by utilizing the constant temperature of the ground and the water 100 feet below the surface of the earth which acts as a heat source in the winter or as a heat sink for cooling in the warmer months.
